Dear Hogwarts parent,
An incident occurred this weekend at Hogwarts School that resulted in the injury of several students. The students unintentionally entered a restricted area of the school that contained experimental material currently under study by Hogwarts faculty. Hogwarts faculty, upon being made aware of the entry, found the students and promptly ushered them out of the restricted area. Unfortunately, two of the students sustained injuries due to the nature of the experimental material located within the restricted area. They were brought to the hospital wing and given emergency treatment administered by school medical staff. The students, though somewhat shaken up, have fully recovered from their injuries. The experimental material was unharmed by the infiltration, but Hogwarts faculty determined that it is best that the material be removed at once from Hogwarts grounds.
Hogwarts staff assures parents that the safety of our students is our number-one priority. The nature of magical education leads to risks, but we are proud to live up to the adage that there is no safer place in wizarding Britain than Hogwarts.
Due to the nature of the incident, a variety of rumours have arisen amid the student body. We encourage parents to wait for Hogwarts confirmation of the events, and to understand that students, despite their best intentions, are still developing their judgement and wordly perceptions. We can assure parents that all pertinent information that does not betray the privacy of those involved will be released as the investigation moves forward.
Thank you,
Albus Dumbledore
Headmaster, Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry
